Thursday, April 25, the band program hosted a Night of Percussion and Ensembles for students, families and the community to enjoy.

The annually held event included students in 5th through 12th grades. Contrary to years before, the event was held in the Kelli O’Hara Center of Performing Arts instead of the band room and added woodwinds to the usual percussion ensemble mix. Cole Pryor and Sierra Johnson also performed solos.

“It wasn’t so emotional for me because it wasn’t our last time to perform together as a band. I slipped up a little bit on my solo, but it made the audience laugh so it turned out alright,” said Pryor.

After the event, students and families gathered in the band room to enjoy refreshments and to talk about the performance.

“It was a fun and entertaining night where band students and their parents enjoyed listening to one another,” said Vanessa Loera-Leija.

Important updates and announcements were made that include changes to the end of the year calendar:

  • The Junior High and High School Spring Concert will be May 9 at 7:30 p.m in the Kelli O’Hara Center of Performing Arts.
  • The Intermediate High Spring Concert will be May 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kelli O’Hara Center of Performing Arts.
