Thursday, November 15, the Elk City Choir Department hosted the Western Oklahoma Choral Festival. Approximately 500 students from 15 schools gathered at the Pioneer Center to sing the songs they have been practicing for weeks. “It’s awesome being in an environment where all around you there are other kids your age that share the same love for singing that you do. It’s also a great way to meet new people and possibly lifetime friends,” said Elk City senior, Tyler Whitehead.

The students rehearsed songs all day to get ready for the final performance at 6:00 p.m. All the hard work put in rehearsing paid off after the concert ended, and the Pioneer Center was filled with applause.
